You’ll notice I’ve now written an ‘About Moneyblogger‘ page. Like many things on the site, this will evolve, but it was important to get something up quickly.

One of the things I find quite annoying is when a blog – particularly one I like – has no ‘about’ page. I don’t know about you, but if I enjoy reading a post I’ve stumbled across, I usually want to know something about the author. What their background is, where they are, and what their blog is all about.

A while ago, ProBlogger Darren Rowse published an article about how to write an ‘about me’ page. It’s not very long, but it covers the main points – and there must be something in it, given it’s been linked to so many times that it’s the number one Google search result for ‘about me‘.

This also goes to show that you don’t have write long, in-depth articles on niche topics to get good search engine rankings – but you do need to provide useful and compelling content that people will want to link to.
