It has been suggested that the first 10,000 blog posts are the most difficult. But those other 9,999 posts are nothing compared to the first post in a brand new blog.
I guess the thing to do is to tell you what Money Blogger is all about.
This blog was inspired by all the “make money online” blogs out there and in particular, a specific post by John Chow where he details his earnings after exactly one year of “monetized blogging”.
John claims to have made over $20,000 last month alone. But he also has a little bit of a reputation for bending the truth – usually in order to sell his readers another product.
But it got me wondering; Just how much money could an average blogger make in a year? Someone with no real experience of the Internet marketeer’s world. Someone who prefers to tell his readers the absolute truth, rather than tweak the figures to get a few more readers. How much of what these bloggers are telling me is real and how much is hype?
So I’ve set myself a challenge. To register a completely new domain (moneyblogger.org) and start with a clean installation of Wordpress, then share every step of my efforts to make as much money as possible with the readers.
I’ll tell you what works for me, what doesn’t work so well, and what falls flat on its face. I’ll share my stats and revenue sources with you, and I fully intend to share a chunk of the revenue with my readers too.
It’s not going to be easy, but in theory we should be able to make more money than Mr Chow, because we already have access to the knowledge it took him a year to acquire.
So please subscribe to the Money Blogger Feed and join me on this journey – and don’t forget to leave a comment!
It’s day one and Money Blogger has 0 hits, 0 subscribers, 0 PageRank, 0 Alexa Rank and I’m down £9 for the domain name. Things can only get better, right?
