Stats for October are in!

Keep in mind that this isn’t a full month and Money Blogger is just 20 days old, but earnings tend to be finalised at the end of each month, so that’s when I’m going to report back from now on. Briefly:

Costs

  • Domain name: $18
  • Google AdWords campaign: $35

Revenue

  • Google AdSense: $30
  • Text-Link-Ads: $25
  • WidgetBucks: $25

Total profit: $27
Total subscribers: 35

I’m fairly pleased with that $80 revenue, and especially pleased we’ve picked up 35 subscribers in 20 days.

I’ve learned a few things too. Like it pays to be a bit more ‘aggressive’ than you might normally be if you really want to make money from blogging. I’ve certainly pushed the Money Blogger RSS feed more than I would on my other blogs.

And that little Google AdWords campaign has really helped too. Given that we started from nowhere with no traffic at all, I think it was a price worth paying. I’m going to continue with the AdWords campaign for the time being, as I think I’m getting pretty good value from it.

Oh – and a quick word about the competition I promised you last week. Tomorrow I’ll be giving away $100 to Money Blogger readers (10 x $10), but it’s strictly on a first come first served basis. If you want to be in with a chance, subscribe now!
