A great way to build community and increase your subscriber numbers is to have competitions for your readers. These can take many forms, but the most common one I’ve noticed among top bloggers lately is the “$xxx Give Away”.

Now, as a blogger, you’ll probably want to devise a competition that will increase your readership, either by getting readers to link to you from their own blogs, or by opening competitions to RSS subscribers only. (There’s at least one Wordpress plugin that allows you to add text to your RSS feed that won’t appear on the main post.)

Now, I can’t afford to give away $54,000 yet, but I will be giving away everything I’ve earned so far (and then some) in my first competition next week.

If you want the details, make sure you’re subscribed to MoneyBlogger, so you don’t miss out!
