One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced since starting Money Blogger isn’t coming up with ideas for posts - it’s remembering them!

Often I’ll wake up with an idea in the middle of the night, or something will come to me when I’m on the train or out shopping.

By the time I find myself in front of a computer again, I’ve either can’t remember why it was such a great idea, or I’ve forgotten the idea entirely.

The answer, of course, is simple. Take notes! Always have some method of writing down ideas - and keep it with you 24 hours a day. It might be a PDA, or even your mobile phone, but by far the best piece of equipment for this particular job is a small pen and paper.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be so used to using a keyboard that writing anything with a pen will take a bit of getting used to. But it’s still a whole lot quicker than typing on a phone’s keypad or waiting 14 minutes for your Windows Mobile PDA to boot up.

It may be old technology, but you can take a pen and paper anywhere and the batteries never go flat. It’s perfect for noting down those ideas that come to you at the most inopportune moments.

I’ll let you know how I’m getting on with my pen and paper in a future post…. if I remember, of course.
